I have the Monogram F-100D, what would need to be done, if I wanted to backdate it to an A or a C model? I am rescribing it now for the NMF Group Build. I hope to have it that part done this weekend. Can anyone help?

Are there aftermarket decals for this kit? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

hey jimz66;
have you tried 2bobs or LHS the carries Superscale, because if I remember right Superscale has the decals for the old Esci's C model HUN, but it might be out of production and no long carried

Unless you have a lot of scratch building experience, you are better off staying with the "D" model. The "A" & "C" had shorter vertical stablizers and they did not have the trailing edge filet that the "D" model had. These two problems would not be too hard to fix, but the speed brake and speed brake well would be. The "D" had a larger well and speed brakes and the brakes were shaped much different.

There was a coversion article in FSM a while back that cover just the rebuild you are talking about. I'll get back to you on the issue.
Found it! The article (by Ben Brown) was featured in the FSM 'Special Collectors issue, 20 years' in january 2002. Ben turns the D model into a C, which involves quite a bit of cutting and rescribing, but nothing really hard. He uses decals from the spares box, so can't help you there. It may be worth getting the mag if you can because the article is basically a 'how-to' with lots of diagrams.

Hope this helps, and good luck!

Cutting edge has a conversion out to make a C out of a D. they also have a decal sheet for a C model. i just finished with mine and it looks good. also legends has seamless intake, exhaust, and agood pit for a D that isnt hard to back date to a C.
hope this helps
