I've been wanting to build one for years. Maybe this is the time to try one out. I love a challenge.

I lucked out last night at a local club meeting.  A guy brought in four kits that he wanted to get rid of and wondered if anyone would buy them.  Now, these were not aircraft, but old car kits- Hudson Miniatures.  They were balsa and card stock with just plastic wheels. I am a sucker for those old timers, so I bought two of them!

I received a stick-n-tissue kit of the P-38 when I was about 14.  I put part of it together, but really didnt know what I was doing.  As is the case with many of the things we got when we were younger, I didnt realize what I had at the time.  Now; however, I realize what I had was something I should have held onto as I got older and more experienced, so that I could appreciate it more.  I have thought about going out and trying to get another, then I see how much the darned things cost and I have to prioritize my spending.  Someday I may get another one.  Its unfortunate that they are so hard to find.

On the Bench:  Lots of unfinished projects!  Smile

Nice collection of kits santa. And to the OP, yes, I'm still interested in balsa models. In fact, I do more in balsa than plastic.'Solid' or stick'n'tissue are fun for me. Have a Comet P47 'solid' in progress (BTW was a 10¢ kit that I paid $3.50 for) and my stick'n'tissue stuff leans toward microRC but here's a pic of an in-the-bones Ercoupe that I recently completed.

And here's the P47...
