The Hasegawa kit I used as a “donor” to build the Ki-100 Goshikisen
The Alley cat resin conversion set. Very nice detail, almost no bubbles….. but the fit is everything but nice……
The home made seatbelts….. made of evergreen strips.
The struts. I made brakelines of Evergreen rods. Although they are hard to get into the right shape, once done, they’re easy to glue! And they stay glued!
The fuselage, very bad fit! Filled the gaps with filler ( for cars, the 2 component stuff.)
The fit is bad as you can see in this pic. Fuselage was “warped” and one half was to short…..
The fit of fuse and wings….. had to cut a lot to get a good join.
topside….
After a thin coat of primer and a few days of drying, I sprayed some parts white.
Followed by Yellow…. As a base for the hinumarus and the IFF bands.
Masked.
A coat of blue…….
And masking…..
I was very impatient for the result so I took the masking tape of the topside. Lowerside is still unpainted.
Lowerside is sprayed with Tamiya aluminium.
Final shots….….. Will make better pics this weekend.
I used;
Vallejo with primer.
Sprayed the paintcoats with Tamiya acrylics; IJA Green (top) , IJA Grey ( ailerons ) , Tamiya flat alumium (bottomside), Red brown ( prop) , Yellow with a touch of red ( IFF bands) , white ( bands and unit marking) , several colours brown and black ( exhaust stains) , Blue ( spinner and bands) and flat red ( hinumarus),
Vallejo washes for the panellines.
Artist “fat”-pencils for the weathering of the tyres.
Revell enamels for the chipping ( silver, green)
Tamiya weathering pastels for oil stain and gun sooth.
I did not weather the blue and white bands because I want to create the idea that it was an “old machine” that had it’s band applied afterwarts. (I don’t think that these were applied immediatly when the arrived at the unit)
Still have to attach the auxillary fuel tanks……
