Very early in progress pix
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, February 29, 2004 1:46 AM
My first build in a long time. Tamiya's 1/48 P-47 Bubbletop with Eduard's PE. Not much done yet, I only have a couple hours a week to spend on the hobby. I'm going for that "worn" look. I've learned a lot on this forum. Any feedback / criticism is appreciated. Thanks!

Hey magic,
So far it is looking very worn..!!!Tongue [:P] I take it that the PE is one of the newer release right?
For the little that you have done, it looks great. I am in the process of building Tamiyas Razorback. As for the interior, I liked detailing the instrument panel myself.!!
What paint scheme/markings are you going to put her in??
Flaps up, Mike

If you would listen to everybody about the inaccuracies, most of the kits on your shelf would not have been built Too Close For Guns, Switching To Finger

criticize??!!! What is there to criticize?? I just had one question.....do you paint before assembly, or pant after assembly....I wanna know how to replicate that in my F4U cockpit I'm building right this minute with Eduards PE. Oh, and is it worth it to post your pics on that site?? I've been thinking about signing up with them also.

Wow, that's fantastic work!! The only thing criticism i have is to tell you to post more of your Razorback when she comes together! Smile [:)]

Very nicely done...what did you use for a wash over the interior green?

With a touch of drybrushing on the highlights, you've got an incredible looking model in the works. Can't wait to see the rest of it!!

QUOTE: What paint scheme/markings are you going to put her in??

Butz - For my first build, I'm scard to death of NMF, so I may try a different scheme from the squadrons in Italy? I think.

QUOTE: do you paint before assembly, or pant after assembly?

kik36 - A little of both. I'm still trying to figure out my techniques. And I'm still waiting on my AB to be delivered.

QUOTE: Oh, and is it worth it to post your pics on that site?

kik36 - I just found that site. It's $1 a month for 400mb bandwidth. I linked to it because I couldn't figure out how to post the pics in thread the right way. I could post them, but they stayed small. You couldn't click on them and get the pic to enlarge.

QUOTE: what did you use for a wash over the interior green?

Jeff - I've just gotten in all the stuff to make Swanny's recipe, but for my first time, I just used brown ink.

Looks like a good start. Now you need to start thinking about some jugs to put on that jug.

Nothing to do with models, just a bit of baseball lore. Can't wait for the 2004 baseball season to begin so the Cubs and the Red Sox fall flat on their faces, AGAIN!!!!!!!

Easy man, it's tough enough to be a Cub's fan without getting trash talked in a modeling forum! Give the man a break!
