thanks people, yes vallejo has rlm 70 and 71, but they say themselves to use rlm 70 and another color instead of rlm71. however i dont know why their paint guide recommends another color instead of rlm 71!next time i will try gunze.

In terms of RLM colors, Gunze is the most accurate and best to use overall IMO.  I would use those if you can find them.  You can spray finer detail and they don't have the "tip clog" problem Vallejo paints do.

I've used the Vallejo Olive Grey on an E-4 and it looks very close, although it has a more olive hue than dark green.  But its about neck & neck with the Gunze 71.  Tamiya XF-61 would also be a good close match for RLM 71 or 83 if you don't want to do any mixing.

The main ones that are not accurate that I've used are the RLM 74/75 colors which are way too dark and lack the green/violet hues seen on the real thing.  The RLM 65 is a little too blue IMO so you might wanna tint it with white a bit.  But I think they reformulated the RLM 75 so its more correct now.

Here's my personal list of RLM to Vallejo reference. I don't claim to have perfect matches for all colors, some are given by Vallejo, some cross-referenced from other sites and some matched via FS.

I just checked there site, 71021 is RLM 70. But 71007 isn't matched with any RLM colour. But 70 and 71 would be sensible for an He 111.

Is it possible those Vallejo numbers are the same as RLM 70 and 71.I am not familiar with those Vallejo numbers, do you know what paint range those are from.

Gunze's RLM colors are the best out there in my opinion.

Vallejo has great Luftwaffe colors. But you need to tell us: What plane, what year and what theater of operations. That way we can tell what RLM colors are to be used and I can give you the Vallejo equivalents.

You've got to be way more specific.

luftwaffe top green colors

hello everyone

i build luftwaffe planes most of the time but still not sure about the paints i wanna use.

i already tried 39 and 40 from revell and the accuracy is very good but i dont like the finish. vallejo is smooth and lovely but it seems the colors dont match the real camo colors. does anyone know which vallejo codes should i use for topside luftwaffe camo? any other paint brand also is ok.

Thanks

Matt
