Congratulations, Darren.  And thanks for all the great stuff you keep putting out.  I've got a stack of Revell/Monogram Tomcats and a bunch of your stuff on the bench just waiting for me to find the time to get to it.  Not that I couldn't use some more cool stuff...

I just finished up my 21st year of teaching, although this past year I moved to 4th grade. All those other years were 1st and 2nd grade. My hair has a whole lot more gray in it than the picture in that first article!

Congratulations and please keep it going. I'm looking forward to the masks for the F-4C/D. The 1/48 KA-6D conversion sound really good too.

Congratulations !!

Ten years?,,,,,hmmm, sometimes it seems like you are one of the "new" companies,,,,and other times it feels like we are saying "go to Steel Beach, they have been around forever and they know their stuff"

Time does fly by when you are just doing your thing and rolling along,,,,,,the next time you pause for air, you will probably be posting your 20th.

I hope so, anyway.

Steel Beach 10th anniversary

It's hard to believe I've been doing this for 10 years. I must be getting old! Steel Beach is kicking off its 10th anniversary with some special sets. Since I started this little venture making parts for the Revell/Monogram F-14, I thought it fitting that I go back to where it all began. I've taken just about all the resin and vinyl products I have for the R/M F-14 Tomcats and combined them into one package. There are three different sets. One is for an early to mid-life F-14A, the second is for a late F-14A or an F-14B, and the last is for the F-14D kits. The total value of all the pieces runs around $130, but they are available for $50 for each set. If you've got an R/M kit hanging around in your closet, these sets will really give it a boost. You can pick them up at Sprue Brothers. There will be more things to come later in the summer to keep celebrating. Besides the three F-14 sets, there is also a new 1/48 Ju-87 Stuka paint mask set for the original scheme. Coming soon will be 1/48 masks sets for F-4C/D Phantoms. They will include masks for the canopies, so there will be a set for the Hasegawa kits and for the Academy kits. I will probably release them in 1/32 scale at a later date. In resin, I've got a few ideas that I'm toying with. Once I decide on which one to start with, I'll let you know. They include 1/48 NACA gun vent doors for the Hasegawa Tomcats, 1/32 KA-6D conversion for the Trumpeter kit (I may do a 1/48 for the Hobbyboss as well), and an ERA-3B conversion for the Trumpeter Skywarriors. As always, I have you guys to thank for the support and patronage you've provided over the last 10 years. I'm honestly surprised it's still going.
