God, I love Craigslist! Christmas in June...
Some guy on the local Craigslist page posted an ad, stating that renters had moved out of one of his rental properties and left-behind 28 aircraft models in the garage, He wanted $160 for them, but settled for $140.
There's some REALLY good stuff in this pile! A lot of old Hasegawa kits, including the 1969 first-edition F-86 in 1:32 scale. Even a huge 1:24 scale BF-109! And that modern 1:32 scale Trumpeter F4U Corsair is worth almost what I paid for the whole lot!
I've been researching / cataloguing the collection, trying to gauge what they're worth and how old they are. I'm not 1/4 of the way through them yet an am already over $200. Most of the boxes are pretty ratty, as are some of the decals--but the kits are complete and perfect inside! Some of them seem pretty rare.
SCORE!!!!!
Not sure what I'm going to keep and / or sell just yet, but I know the big F-86, FW-190 and Lockheed Constellation are keepers for sure.
