Just finished another Red 3 up!! She's a bit more chipped than the actual bird would have been, but the client digs it!!

thanks gents! the chipping was actually paint from a silver paint pen that i applied with a short, stubby brush

Thanks, with it being 1/48, you have lots of room to get it right, and you did.

Beautiful build.  The paint is great.  What are you using for that universal joint at the top of the mount?

It's the ball joint that comes with the Polar Lights dome base

Great job, Nicholas! Love the weathering. I'm currently building the 1/32nd Hasegawa version of this same plane. I have one question - did you use decals for the white stripes on the bottom, or did you paint them? The decal sheet for mine has the stripes, but they look kinda yellowy, so I'm planning on painting the white stripes on mine.

I used the Tamiya decals. They were still pretty white so I figured I'd give it a shot. On 1/48 it's not that huge an issue the get them to sit on the panel lines and do weathering. Whenever I get to my 1/32 version of this bird I will definitely opt for the painted stripe option...
