Does "Accurate Miniatures" Aircraft count too?

After all, this 1:72 F-4C Phantom II IS an old Monogram mold. Big Smile

Col. Robin Olds' Vietnam Phantom currently in-work...still needs landing gear, weapons pylons and canopies...and of course that all-important "final touch-up"!

I actually dirtied this one up by dry-brushing it with finely ground black fireplace soot, followed by a dull coat.

Sorry, I thought this would show up as a reply in the "Show is your Monogram Builds" thread.

Still figuring this forum out LOL

Looks great, especially for 1:72!

You are getting some really good results from the fireplace soot! Looks great!

I've always been a fan of the SEA Camo F-4s.  That is looking really good.

You would have to post this by hitting a reply in that thread. But yes it most certainly counts. It may be Accurate Miniatures boxing, instructions, and decal sheet, but the molds for the plastic are original tried and true Monogram! By all means post it there once complete ;)

Thanks guys...more photos to come once she's finished. Now I just have to paint a huge mustache on the tiny pilot figure...  ;)

That's funny. I painted a mustache on the pilot in my B-25. Totally changes the figure. I love your F4, one of my all time favorite planes; they were still in use when I joined the Air Force.

Very nice F-4. Monogram did a series of 1/72nd kits and that was one of them. FYI The F-4 is at the USAF Museum in Dayton Ohio. IIR Robin Olds retired as a General officer. General Olds' daughter was an Academy graduate and was a USAF Captain when she was killed by a SCUD missle in RIAD during the 1st GULF war (IIRC). Robin Olds was one of those "bigger than life"  people. Your model is a nice tribute to a true American hero.

Beside that Phantom, the F4B-4 and the F11C, did AM repop any other Monogram kits?  Did they re-issue the 1/72 P-51B kit, too?
