Here's the cockpit finished other than the piece that goes onto the back of the seat...gotta put the wheel well together for that though. The kit was lacking seat belts so I used masking tape for them.

The Shahak/Mirage, and Kfir both wore the ghost gray scheme. I am not too sure about the Nesher though. Those started out in the post 67 war camo, and many were sold off to Argentina before the Falklands/ Malvinas war. I have yet to come across aphoto of those in the gray scheme and I do not know if they served long enough to be repainted in that scheme.

I am not a fan of E-books, so I cant say yes or no. But if that is something that you like and or prefer, I would say get it.

As of now...I want to build one in the camo scheme that i will do now...one in the bare metal... it's the Nesher's that have the air superiority grey schemes correct? And I also want to do a Kfir...preferably all in 1/48. I'll go ahead and get that book then....one question, do you think it's worth it to save 7 bucks and get it on the kindle version? I know some books that are converted to kindle the pictures aren't so great but some are fine

If you like Israeli Mirages and lots of good aviation war stories, oh yes! Those things saw so much action from the time they were introduced into the IDF until they were completely replaced by US built aircraft in the second half of the 1970s. I have both the Eduard Weekend Edition kit like yours and the Hobby Boss (a nearly identical kit) as well as the Aeromaster IDF Mirage decal set (a huge multi sheet edition) in my stash. I need to get my hands on a Mirage 5/Nesher in 1/48 one day to round it all out properly.

Thanks Stik, I plan on building more Mirage's in Israeli colors...would you recommend I get that book?

I have the Osprey book "Israeli Mirage/Nesher Aces" and will have a look thru that to see if it mentions that operation. It has a whole Chapter on the War of Attrition. I had a look at ACIG.ORG's article on the War of Attrition, and it dates the Israeli/Soviet clash on July 1970 at towards the end of Operation Blossom, so very likely that Mirage had something to do with that fight.

Josiah - I've been eyeing off this kit for a long time.

Thanks for replying Stik...I saw that incident in my brief research and it was called Rimon 20...but that apparently translates to pomegranate. Eduard is a Czech company? Maybe it got lost in translation. I've only been perusing wikipedia though (hope none of my professors find this) as the only book on Israeli air raids is "Raid on the Sun"

I wonder if that was the op where the Israelis spanked the Soviet Migs. Long story short, the Soviets were actively participating in the War of Attrition to shore up their Egyptian clients poor showing. Soviet pilots in Mig-21s with EAF markings. The Israelis knew it from SIGINT, and tried to avoid direct combat with them, but after the Soviets shot up some Israeli aircraft, the IDF planned an aerial ambush for the Soviets. The plan worked with the Soviets losing multiple Migs with no losses for the IDF. Afterwards the Soviets backed off in the aerial arena.
