Hey Mike, Swanny cut out his seatbelt, kept the backing on the decal and superglued it just like that with a bit of 3-D action in there, and it looks pretty damn close to PE. I'm not going to be using my seatbelt decal...so if you're interested send me an e-mail. The seatbelt decal I have is very different though, so I'll e-mail you a pic......after you contact me (they don't let you send pics through the contact buttons on the posts) Here's the seat I'm using

Keep up the great job!!!!

Thanks for the encouragement. I have been pretty discouraged lately due to airbrush and weathering follies on my last kit (which has been relegated to my son's toybox. Gotta love those 1:144 fighters!) that I needed it.

The instrument panel is just the decal heavily softened with MicroSol over the panel in the kit. I then hit it with MM acrylic flat and then with Future over the gauges. I was amazed at how excellent that worked out.

The side panels were drybrushed. I picked out some buttons with red on a toothpick for interest, (and the reference material had some) but that is my first drybrush experience. WELL worth the effort - the pics tho look MUCH better than the real thing.

Looking at the photos...I am totally dissatisfied with the seat belt. Haven't decided on whether I will try and do one from scratch yet, but I am sure leaning that way.

This is just box stock, so it won't compare to most of what I see here, but this reflects all I have learned so far as a reader. 1:48 Tamiy F4U-1
