No, I don't really have any good detail shot because I'm not that good of a photographer.  I end up taking these pics on my kitchen counter and the lighting isn't very good.  I'd like to get better at photography at some point though.  

This is sort of ironic since my wife is a professional photographer.

Fly - Another great build, you made a super job of it, thanks for posting. What paint, and did you use a clear coat for final finish????

I use Mr. Color paints almost exclusively for the main colors.  The overall color was C13 Neutral Grey.  BUT...I don't usually paint straight from the bottle.  I usually add various amounts of white or black to the paint to achieve the different tones and fading.   This one took an entire bottle of C13, BTW!

The metal areas were painted with Alclad II Aluminum.

I used Humbrol Gloss Clear for the gloss coat before decaling and AK Interactive Satin for the final coat.  This was the first time I used the AK Interactive Satin and I like the results.

This kit isn't particularly large.  It's approximately 15 inches from nose to tail and 14 inches from wingtip to wingtip (I'm assuming you want US measurements).  It seems to take up about as much space as some of my bigger 1/48 jet builds...like Hasegawa Superhornets and a Revell F-15E, if that helps.

Now that's one sweet looking build. Nice job on the weathering as well, theres nothing wrong with some artistic licence.

I only got to fly in these once, its one beast of a plane, like a damn cathedral inside.

Outstanding job, Fly-n-hi!! Did it want to be a tail-sitter, or was nose weight not needed?

I should mention that I was very careful attaching the landing gear to make sure that all the wheels would contact the surface.  With weight in the nose all 14 wheels are contacting the ground.

If you check out the Mighty Mini's GB I explained how I attached the gear in a way that assured me the wheels would all touch the ground and posted pics as well.

Fly, unfortunately not. I was flying out of Afghanistan and my camera had been packed away. I imagine it was not the typical layout inside as it had been fitted with rows and rows of airline style seats to accommodate everyone. I just recall being overawed at how big it seemed inside.

No, I was in St. Louis, in the Astronautics Company.  However, at Mac the divisions worked closely together, so I worked with McAir folks a lot, military stuff, of course, and a bit with Douglas Space in Long Beach.  My  specialty was optical sensors- FlIRS, recon cameras, space cameras, etc.

Before the C-17 competition MDC had a joint project with Breguet of France, and they had a fantastic stol plane, the 188.  It flew into St. Louis quite a few times, and it was spectacular.  Looked like it was about to drop out of the sky on approaches it was going so slow!

Fly-in-hi, glad to see the detail shot.  The dark grey wash is a nice subtle touch that doesn't come off as so heavy handed.  It seems to help the eye keep moving around and not get stuck on just one spot.  =]  I've been considering colors other than black myself lately.

Another nice build and I like the tail markings! I used to live in Hawaii (on a different island than Hickham which is on Oahu, not far from Pearl Harbor), so that caught my eye.

I actually bought this wash in a set of 3 colors that are supposed to be used on modern jets with light grey, medium grey and dark grey paints.  This wash was the darkest of the three.  I'll probably try the medium shade on the F-22 that I'm working on.

Although, I think these washes could be used on other colors like SEA schemes and such.
