1/48 Monogram F-100

I finished this for a local museum's Vietnam case. While the fit of the open panels isn't all that great, the overall build experience was quite pleasant. I tend to forget just how much fun the old Monogram kits are to build. It was finished with various Alclad paints. The decals are from Superscale.

Nice job Darren.  =]  I do enjoy seeing how different people tackle the heat stains on the rear of the fuselage on this one.  Tug and Theuns both have one of these on the NMF GB.  It's worth checking out.  I've been looking forward to trying my hand at this as well, but for now I'll just have to live vicariously through you.  =D

Thanks for the kind words. What's interesting is that the bluish tint isn't as stark on the actual model. It showed up much more in the pictures. Or, my eyes are going and I just can't see the bluish tint on the actual model! LOL

Gotta go with-the group on this one.  Sweet looking ride.  That's a lucky museum.

IMO I think the old Monogram F-100 is a fantastic kit.  You did a great job with the NM finish and the heat staining. I have this one in my stash on the to do list.
