Bicentennial Collection
Posted by Darren Roberts on Friday, July 4, 2014 11:58 AM
My long-term project is to make as many different Bicentennial-schemed aircraft as I can. I was only 6, so I don't remember much. This is a way to kind of relive the Bicentennial experience with a much greater appreciation for the aircraft. All are in 1/48 scale. Happy 4th of July! A very patriotic theme, all excellent work. The Marine F-4 paint scheme doesn't seem like it would have been easy, looks quite complicated around the canopy. Nice job Darren, thanks.

Cool idea, Darren! That's quite a colorful collection you've got going. I was 12 when the Bicentennial happened. Never knew about the military marking their planes in that manner until I got older and started researching aircraft for the models that I was building. Wished I could've seen some of them at airshows back then......
