Here is the latest on this:
I had to scratch build and exhaust since the kit was missing that piece. Here is the fitting stage. More sanding and trimming has to be done for a good fit. Added some ballast to the nose Here are the stabs in thier orginal form and the wings in thier original form The modified wings and stabs mounted With the major fit problems and huge gaps, Styrene and tenax were used to seal and strengthen the joints.

lol yeah I already thought of buying stock in putty too, It's a simple kit but the body is very flimsy. I suspect it will stiffen up after all the weapons bays and wheel wells and bulkheads are installed.
Which putty you buyin'? I want to load up on the shares of the company...
Seriously, it may go together ok, the detailing is very soft on it, though.
Going thru my stash I found a kit I had forgot I had. It was one of my ebay buys if I remember right cost me $5.00. Well I finally opened the box out of curiosity and found that the previous owner had started it, kind of. There are a few pieces that are broken and painted. It will need a lot of work. I plan on converting it to the Production F-22A. I think this will be my "break" build while I am doing the group builds. Since there are no after market parts for this kit everything added will be scratch built. Here are a few pics of what I am up against.
one of the seat sides has been broken The instrument panel has been snapped off and the entire cockpit painted glossy black by the previous owner. Closer view of the seat side that is broken The box Size comparison with the smaller being a 1/48 italeri raptor,(which I will do the nose mod on in the future). Overall it does not look like a bad kit for the era that it was made. It looks like it will be a putty monster. I will update as I go.
