Help! I need a 1/48 T-34C
Posted by Darren Roberts on Thursday, July 24, 2014 10:07 AM
I'm building a series of models for a friend of mine and I can get everything but the T-34. I'm bidding on one on eBay, but someone else wants it as well and the cost is beginning to get a bit too high. Does anyone have a Czech T-34C they would be willing to sell? The auction ends tomorrow, and I'd really like to not go any higher. I know Minicraft says they are coming out with one, but who knows when that will be. Thanks for any help.

Howdy Darren,

I'd have to check my stash o kits because I know I have one possibly two 34's.. I also know that my local hobby shop has a couple Czech T-34's on the shelf as well..

Not badly priced either... Ah I found one T-34 in my stash and the price tag reads $19.98.. I can swing by there and let you know if he still has them if you'd like?

 Flaps up,

 Mike

If you would listen to everybody about the inaccuracies, most of the kits on your shelf would not have been built Too Close For Guns, Switching To Finger

I have the Czech Model kit and haven't built it because I hate the shape of the canopy, way too round in front cross section.  I wish I could find a replacement, it is vac form anyway.  Suspect I'll have to make my own.

Thanks guys! I was able to get ahold of one. I appreciate the offers, though.

If it means anything to ya...I know that the T-34 windscreens are individually made to each airframe.

My bro (F/A-18D WSO) flew here in a 34 a couple years back to get some X-coutry time (San Diego to central-ish Michigan). They took a hawk to the windscreen, while on short final....

You can see the damage to the windscreen and some remains on Mongo's(pilot) flightsuit.

Anyway...the moral of the story....they couldn't just send a mech. out with a replacement windscreen (because they are all different). Mech/contractor had to come out, measure, and custom make the part for this plane.

My bro and "Mongo" got a week + 1/2 paid vacation, while waiting on the fix.
