I've built both, and while the HB kit has some issues, overall it's a much easier build. The surface detail has some extra rivets that really shouldn't be there. After building a number of Hasegawa kits, though, the HB kit is a refreshing change for fit. One thing about the HB kit is to pick up a Steel Beach NACA vent replacement. The positioning of the vents on the HB kit look odd. The intakes are also not quite right, but I just cover mine up with a set of SB intake covers.

I've been reading all the reviews on the Hobbyboss F-14D compared to the Hasegawa, but I keep seeing conflicting things.  One will say the Hobbyboss is more detailed while another says that the Hasegawa details are better.  Can anyone comment? if you've built both what's the real difference in panel lines, rivets, etc.  I know the Hobbyboss has a full compliment of stores, I'm not really hung up on that since I'll probably just use some of my spares.

Thanks
