Striker, you took the words out of my mouth.  Starting to look like a good ol'e beat up war bird that's been through H.E. Double toothpicks and back.  I like it!!!  JMHO, Raymond

I know you're wanting a gloss coating but you've achieved a worn and weathered look that others strive for. Seems a shame to ruin it... Big Smile.

Grab you a sharpie marker and before you open the glosscote put a "G" on the label, and under the bottom of the can. Use "D" dullcoat, and "S" for semi-gloss. (Testors has really p.m.o. with the recent packaging, the cote type is on the detachable cap. Angry

Chasing the ultimate build.

The prop looks like lacquer blush.  That usually happens when the humidity is high.  I think a coat of the gloss lacquer will cure that.  Worth a try anyway...(If you were using an airbrush, I'd recommend adding a little lacquer retarder to your mix.)    I quit using that Testors lacquer long ago so maybe some current users will add more useful info?  Good luck!

Just for reference, these are the coating cans I used; one is dull, the other is gloss. I was told that they were both safe on enamel paint...

but as you can see... it seems to be distorting the colours already. The black on the propeller has turned almost white in colour (the olive drab is also white in places as well). What is happening here? can it be fixed?

Hey gents,

So as luck would have it the two shake cans I bought are completely identical (save the lid). I was finishing up my B-17 and decided to seal it but when both of the lids were off I couldn't figure out which one was the gloss coat... needless to say, i chose poorly.

Is there any way to fix this? I know decals don't go on well over a flat(dull) coat so I'm really hoping it's as simple as waiting for the flat coat to dry and then apply some gloss? or will this distort the paint in any way?
