No worries Devil Dawg , was really pleased with the way the decals layed down and they were easy to work with. The disc that comes with it is worth the outlay alone lots of good info and detailed pics of several aircraft. Also contains a builders guide as to what was accurate and what needed to be added or deleted, very helpful info.

Forgot to add these bench photos

cheers Trey

Mississippivol thanks, the markings are from VMFA(AW) -121 Green Knights combat tour 07 ,again not accurate for the single seater but thats what he wanted. No the Corp did'nt leave out the red stripe,I totally dropped the ball on that all by myself.

Gary, Fly-n-hi,Mike,Devil Dawg, Bruce & Bish thanks!

Raymond thanks ,I know he was with an MP unit not sure which one, I'll find out this w/e.

Here is a link of the same decal and disc set we got for the build

Good job!  I've really come to love the Hornet/Super Hornet over the years, and I think you did a fine job on this one.  You're friend ought to be honored to have it.  Where did he serve?

The first planes I saw after 9/11 were a (what looked to be) P-3 variant of some sort doing a patrol just outside of Dallas escorted by a Hornet loaded for bear.  Suckers do look mean when they're angry ;-)  Raymond

Great-lookin' Hornet, Trey! Impressive build. Kinda wondering about the 3D MAR DIV markings. The 3rd Marine Division is infantry, not air wing. I woulda thought it have 3MAW, for 3rd Marine Air Wing, although that would be a rare sight, too, if used at all. Interesting markings, none the less.

Nice build!  I noticed the missing stripe in the national insignia too, kind of odd.

Love your build! Interesting that the Corps marked that bird without the red stripes on the national insignia.

Looks great! I really like the subtle paint modulations and the overall "flight line" look. Bet your friend is pleased to have it.

I built this for a Marine Vet friend of mine . The kit has a some p/e upgrades and a/m decals, just a note the markings are actually for the 2 seater. Finished with Model master enamels and Testors Dulcote.
