A greek one, either SEA (vietnam pattern), Lizzard green F-4E ex german, blue-silver in Aegean blue, or in a ghost scheme like our F-16......looks really nice.

Jake,

Pacific Air Forces (PACAF) F-4Es had the Hill Grey Scheme but kept the red, white and black sharkmouths on them! With a white PAVE SPIKE pod, olive drab bombs or Mavrick missiles on the jet this would have a lot of "color". Aeromaster did a sheet a long time ago with Clark AB F-4E/Gs on it if you can find one. PACAF units with F-4s with Hill Grey would be Clark (PN tails) from The Philippines, Osan (OS tails) and even Teague (GU tails) both from Korea. Just a thought.

http://www.vogue-web.ch/f4/gre.html# See this page for adittional pics from greek Phantoms i like very much "Princess Of Andravida" Wich miscalled in the site as RF-4E but is F-4E, Updated version in "ICE" Standarts!Evil [}:)] I'm Greek so i like greek cammos. This one is "Ghost" Cammo taken directly from F-16N of NAS Miramar (Top Gun) but the color contrast is not so strong! cheers

I recently saw a revell germany ad for a west german f-4 that had a horse painted on the side - That one looked great .

There was a couple of proposed camo patterns (3 tone grey wrap around) That I think one of the navy squadrons tested at one point - gotta dig that info up.
3d modelling is an option a true mental excercise in frusrtation

Steve-O and the rest: great Phantom pics! The F-4 is one of my all time favorite jets. Those bad boys saved my bacon on more than one occasion a long time ago. Thanks for posting these fabulous pics, gents.

Thanks everybody for all the cool pics'. I've still got some thinking to do. I can't decide between the Isreali cammo or a dark green and brown.
Think think thing..that's all I do! LOL

By the way, how do you guys get a photo to post on this forum? I have a few I would like to show.

Just wondering.

While I'm at it I may as well put a phew more Phantom links out here:

F-4 Phantom II Society - Not a ton of photos, but an okay site...

F-4 Phantom Website - This is a great site with alotta photos, including this groovy JASDF jet:

Click HERE in case the resize craps out.

McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II - This is a page on the Phantom Productions Aviation Photography site. Not a ton of F-4 photos here, but the phirst shot on the page is of an old phriend of mine, good 'ole 660...

The Phantom's Lair - This is a site dedicated to the 8th TFW, the 'Wolphpack'. I believe there's more than just 8th TFW jets here, though. Not totally sure...

Those Vulcans would work on armour too wouldn't they? I can see it now:

Thanks for the correction. I thought it was but the site said D, so thats what I put. Kinda looks like it has one of those radar pod thingies on it, like on the night fighter Corsair or Hellcat. How did you get them to blow up?

Looks like you used the thumb url's...

I would NOT wanna be on the receiving end of those FIVE (count 'em! FIVE!!) Vulcans this guy is packin'!!!

That last one is actually an F-4F flown out of Hollomon by the 20th FS. The 20th trains German F-4 aircrew. Got to hang out with a couple of those guys a few years back. Those German guys is wacky...

Hey Jake,

Had another thought.

Check out airliners.net. Don't let the name fool you. I was turned on to this site when I first got on the net and it's become one of my prime go-to's for modern military aircraft. I did a search on 'Phantom' ('F-4' yielded no hits!) and came up with 800+ results. May take a while to go through, but it's usually worth it.

There are a whole plethora of F-4 schemes. ranging from the esoteric to the gaudy. Some of my favorites are the US bicentennial and the German "specials". I have seen a picture of one that was painted in a black and yellow "bumblebee" stripe scheme that wasn't to different from the UKs target tug. Some of the best schemes are from the USN when "hi-viz" was in. There are a lot of choices out there and I don't envy you trying to choose one. Please post some pics when you get her finished.

Hey Blackwolf,

Thanks for the link to the Israeli Airforce Website..I found some good F-4 photos like you said. I also found some Skyhawk and Apachi photos for my file collection. Although I am just getting started saving referance materials (only a couple hundred mags, photos, books etc) I hope to one day get much more as I realize as you have that a good referance library can make all the differance when enjoying a new model.
Thanks again,
Jake
