PE and Canopy Parts
Posted by jimz66 on Wednesday, March 3, 2004 9:18 PM
OK guys really lets get serious. How do you apply PE parts to Clear canopies. You are supposed to use White glue or canopy glue for Canopies and CA glue for PE. SO what gives?

Please let me in on the secret. I can be trusted honest.

Non-fogging CA glue works for me.

I've heard that if you dip your canopy in Future, the CA won't fog it. Haven't tried it myself but I've heard it many times.

I use CA for attacking parts to the inside of the canopy framing. When the canopy is coated with Future, it protects it from the CA fumes. Use as tiny a drop as will hold the part. I keep it by a fan until its dry. Its never fogged on me. If a part is to be attached to the "glass" portion, I use white glue or Future. These will dry clear, but won't provide as strong a bond.

Hope this helps.
