BTW, Who's Joe Blow and why does he only have 5 stars for 4 mil. posts? And being as he has 4 mil. posts he must be in the armour forum, which would explain why I haven't seen him!!LOLBig Smile [:D]

Thats one of the things I like about this forum, and why its the only one I use with any regularity. The sense of family is really strong. I also enjoy the sense of humour shown in the forum posts. NO ONE SHOULD TAKE MY JIBES SERIOUSLY. I am a notorious practical joker. I do things for the laughs it will get, not to make anyone look bad or feel bad. The rivalry between the A/C Guys and the Armour Guys is good, when there is no communication between the groups thats when you'll know that something is wrong (I keep wondering why the other sections, Sci-Fi, Auto and Ship etc don't join in the banter). As long as there is rivalry everyone involved will try to do better to equal or exceed the other guy. That's how you get better. If you let it be and don't try to outdo the other guy then your skills will stagnate. This applies to all forums and not just to us and them. Friendly competition is a good thing, it's when peoples feelings start getting hurt that it goes sour. As adults we shouldn't let our egos get in the way.SoapBox [soapbox] Sorry about the soapbox diatribe guys, but it needed to be said. Now back to the regularly scheduled banteringTongue [:P]

Personally, I never looked at it that way....I just thought it was another part of being a family, 'growing up' and such....I can't really explain it, but I NEVER looked at it as competition!!! And I hope that no one else does either!!!! I gurantee that the armor guys don't spend half the time worrying about ruffling people's feathers, than we do!!! As long as we keep it fun, it will always be fun....everyone polices this forum, so if you see something getting out of line between a few people, feel free to jump in and break it up!!!! As for drinking the last of the milk, it wasn't me....but I did drink out of the carton!!!! LOL Keep it fun fellas, that's all it is!!!!Big Smile [:D]

i agree, we saw that in another thread two individuals had a misunderstanding. although it was smoothed out i dont want to give anyone a reason to start behavior that would be destructive toward this site. this site is fantastic and the family atmosphere is what brings me back. the stars by nature invite competition but within all the posts there are some great conversations. i must admit a fourth star would be nice but i hope somewhere along the way i can contribute to promote the hobby. i think i will keep the disclaimer just to make sure.

btw as we are a family who drank the last of the milk???

I concur with that last...

Canopies are almost enough to drive me to build armor exclusively...

fightnjoe, I know that it is all well intended and in good fun. My word of caution was not to let it get out of hand. This Forum is the best on-line modeling reference/chat site on the web and I hope it stays that way. Iv'e belonged to enough clubs and visited other on-line model Forums to know that good natured repartee can get nasty when the wrong egos get bruised. I do find the focus on the number of posts a little odd, with congratulatory notes being posted for "Joe Blow just got his 4000000 post", but I guess the star thingie brings out the competitive urge in some folks. Just remember,"Size Doesn't Matter", my lifelong motto! Also remember, that if you didn't have to paint Aircraft canopies & windscreens, there would be far fewer Armor modelers than there are.

ok, felt the need to put a disclaimer in the thread. dont want anyone to have any hard feelings or to use it to cause friction. i want to promote the hobby as a whole, that includes all subject matter. i put it in the first post.

yep!!! this is all just in fun. THe friendly rivalry between the 2 subjects are one of the reasons I like this Forum!!! I can hardly wait until we do a combined build, wether we switch subjects, or choose a "cooperating" theme. (such as blitzkrieg, or Torch, or Desert Storm, etc.)

thevinman, not a prob.

rjkplasticmod, this was never intended to cause friction. if i thought it would i never would have begun this thread. a very good friend of mine is an armor modeler. the work of armor modelers is fantastic in its own way. this is all in good natured fun and i would hope that all who saw this respond in the same way.

The number of posts is kinda meaningless, just like the star thingie. Lots of posts may just reflect addiction to the computer/internet. Besides, Iv'e known a couple of Armor modelers that were pretty good guys who bathed fairly regularly.

I don't think that will happen with this group as everyone knows that whats said is in jest and good fun. If anyone is taking it serious, then they need psychiatric help or need to grow a sense of humour. I have also known a few treadheads and they couldn't spell bath much less take oneBig Smile [:D]Tongue [:P].

fightnjoe - Since you started this thread, I have a humble suggestion: For people like me who are easily confused. I suggest that you start a badge index / history in your first post (not in your signature because it gets real confusing for someone who reads this mid stream) but in the body of the post.
Example:
- Description / version #
- Description / version #
- Description / version #

This way we get to see all the great work and design evolution.

Plus - this lets me pick the right one(s) for me. Big Smile [:D]
