accurate avenger question
Posted by nsclcctl on Thursday, March 4, 2004 8:38 AM
I am struggling through the rear fuselage of my avenger. There is this rear bulkhead piece which supports the rear machine gun. Directions say to bend the bottom piece up 90 degrees. I am confused. It does not bend easily and is it bent toward the front of the plane or the rear. I assume, once bent, the machine gun sits on top and points through the window provided. I am close to finishing this fuselage. Thanks to wonderful hard to read instructions and worthless drawings, it has been a struggle but I belive I am close. This and the rear seat are all that is left before I put the two fuselage halves together.

I am going to paint this in the atlantic scheme. Can someone verify the top and bottom colors for me. I know it is a flat white and a grey, which grey and what is the pattern? Thanks,

Here's a couple of links to on-line builds I found on Google. Maybe you can do a "stare and compare" with the pictures included with the builds?

The ventral machine gun mount stays where it is. This is the piece on the bottom of the bulkhead that you are referring to. DO NOT BEND THAT!!!!....the part that you want to bend is the ammo belt. Bend that up 90 degrees to meet the bottom of the ammo box. Then you will glue the gun on the locator pin at the bottom of the bulkhead.

hope this helps

u are so right, thank you. The online build pictures actually helped a lot as well. I am determined to get through these awful instructions. They are absolutely worthless. The model is gorgeous but the instructions stink big time!!!
