Forgot to say, I've seen some folk put a knuckle in thicker acrylic rod - If you stick it up the jet pipe (the acrylic rod...), between the rotation there & the knuckle in the rod you can pose / adjust it to your hearts content.

I use Acrylic rod and brass rod for my inflights.

I've also got a build in process using a wood dowel.

I put a brass receiver in the model (small hole) and a pin in the bass stand:

I love the smell of plastic in the morning

That's true, but I've never been a fan of cutting away at a model I just worked hard to finish. Plus, traditional stands are often a one time shot, in that once it's posed, it's there for good. I prefer being able to change the look over time if I want.

Broad acrylic rod bent at 90° & stuck up the exhaust can look quite effective.

For a simple method that allows you the opportunity to pose it in any way you like and doesn't require any cutting, check out flightpose stands. They're essentially tripod style stands in crystal acrylic that can be posted in any position you like. They come in three different sizes, but for 1:32 you'll probably need the 6 inch stand.

I have a 1/32 F-16 model I'd like to display as if it where in flight. Has anyone made a display like this before? I'm trying to figure out the best way of supporting the model on a wooden base. Any help and ideas would be great.
