Recently finished this project on commission for a guy in Tampa Florida. Lot of work to get these trumpeter kits to come online, but a very nice representation when done. Enjoy.

Thank you for sharing this scapilot! =]  I saw 1:32 F-14 and thought yup...*click.  This thing must be huge.  I really do like the weathering here on this cat.  Do you have any other pictures?

Well done.

Is the Phoenix missile system still used or has it been surpassed by something more modern?

Wow, one dirty cat but very nice work!  Has to be my favorite aircraft.

BigJim, as far as I know the Phoenix was only used on the F-14.

F-14 was built to carry the Phoenix.  As went the Tomcats, so too went the Phoenix's.

VERY nice build, you nailed the weathering.

Hey everyone. Sorry for the delay. Thank you very much for the kind words. Really appreciate it. For those looking for addition pictures, please feel free to browse the album I've dedicated to them on my FB Models page here:

As far as the build, it was challenging. Lots of parts to bring these trumpeter kits together. Paint was a long process, but most of the weathering was also achieved with the airbrush so that added lots of additional time and work. I appreciate it again.

That facebook gallery thing is cool, but pix are small. I'd paruse thru them if they were larger. Nice work tho. You say you built this on commission? Didn't know there was a market for that kind of thing......nice.

Sarge, if you'll click the first thumbnail it takes you to larger shots of the photo and then you can easily navigate through the rest of them. As far as commission, I build Models full time for a living so there's definitely a market for it.

BigJim, not only has the AIM-54 been surpassed...so has the F-14!

Yes, I knew that, but, I hadn't heard anything about the Phoenix system. It seemed like such a great weapon at the time.

The Tomcat is my favorite jet and the squadron marking combinations are endless. Truly a magnificent model that should make  your customer very happy.

Lol. I feel you. It is a large piece.  I'm in the process now of repainting a 1:18 tomcat.  Kind of makes the trumpeter kit seem  like a keeper
