1/48 B-1 Bomber Diorama
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, March 7, 2004 6:51 AM
I am building a BIG! BIG! BIG! diorama with 3 Revell-Monogram 1/48 scale B-1 Bombers. My dilema is finding tow tractors in1/48 scale. Can anyone PLEASE tell me, if this tractors are available or do I have to make them from scratch.
Thanks!Angry [:(!]Angry [:(!]

You want a MB2, and I highly doubt anyone makes one. They would be easy enough to scratch build, all flat sided. B1 tow bar is even easier, basiclly a round tube with wheels.

The ones that I've driven are of course OD green, highly faded, with chocks strewn on the front. Very used and abused piece of equipment. Large pintle hooks front and back, black reg # on the door.

Sorry I can't be of any help, but please, please take some pictures for us. I know I for one would love to see that dio. It sounds like it's going to be HUGE! It will certainly be an attention grabber.

This is more under the category of "a word of encouragement" than it is to help you find a tow tractorBig Smile [:D]

Like you I have undertaken a diorama of large preportions from the 1950s. Needless to say, less than half of what I want to display is available anywhere so I am scratchbuilding (for the first time)Blindfold [X-)]

I must tell you that if you look for advise on this forum and do a little planning you will be able to come close enough with your diorama parts that it would be acceptable to any onlookerSmile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

My diorama is of a 1956 guided missile launch. I have to scratch build the launcher, launch van, the fuel bowser and rebuild all the figures into Navy uniforms. All of this is from photographs so I'll only be close. So what, it's what I want and that is what modeling is all aboutBig Smile [:D]

I'd be interested to see how yours turns out - good luck on your buildApprove [^] I'm sure you will be happy with itBig Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D]
