FS36118 Gunship Gray on Tamiya Acrylics?

Okay...I'm sorry if I'm sounding obscure about my issue - I'm posting messages and reading replies at work, discreetly ALT-TABbing when the boss aint looking...kinda tricky to compose and absorb messages...

I simply stick to acrylics because I'm used to them; and then Tamiya is the most accessible brand here.

TS-48 Gunship Gray is rattlecan only; no direct equivalent in acylic form; i.e.; XF-## Gunship Gray

And, from the replies from other boards and the post by Copierguy, the answer to my question is XF-24 Dark Gray.

That's it. Thats what I was just looking for!

BlackThor 06, what gary is trying to say is that since you are used to Tamiya acrylics, you can continue to use them, as they manufacture the particular colour you're looking for. Gary suggested you try the tamiya TS-48
I also use exclusively Tamiya acrulics. FOr this you would be able to use (as copierguy suggested) xf-24. They're part of the standard tamiya range, so you won't have any trouble finding them.

Then I'm confused. If you can purchase Tamiya acrylics where you're at, why can't you just buy the color that you need? Why do you need to mix a color that you can purchase directly? Is it because you can't find that particular color?

What I am looking for is just Tamiya acrylics, since that particular brand is readily available here in this country; others like Model Master and such are in limited quantity and are usually in enamels.

So, who said anything about rattle cans? You can get jars of Tamiya acrylic paint that you can thin to your liking. Plus, I mentioned Model Master ENAMEL paint, not acrylic paint. There are other paint manufacturers that produce FS paints as well. You would probably spend as much on the separate colors to mix as you would on one can of spray paint anyway.

Well...rattle cans cost a lot and Model Master Acryl is not marketed here.

Besides, I'm already used to how Tamiya Acrylics behave when either applied with an airbrush or a paintbrush...

The Tamiya color number for that shade of gray is TS-48. The Model Master Enamel color is 1723. I don't see any reason why you would have to mix paint when you can buy it ready-made. Good Luck!
