Italeri C-130 H 1/48th

Hi Folks,

Thought you might enjoy seeing these. There is a quarter on the table for scale reference.

Every 2 years or so I take my C-130 H (wingspan 34") down from the ceiling in order to get the dust off of it. Today was that day and since this is the first time since I've had a digital camera I took it outside and took some shots.

I dread doing this as inevitably something breaks/snaps offs etc, no matter how careful I am. I spent an hour today C/A ing two prop blades and one mid landing gear door, and they weren't cooperating at all, as I had to hold this beast upright while doing so.

If you think this is big look at the last photo of my stripped B-36 (wingspan almost 39") hanging behind my work table. I guess I'll save that project for my retirement.

What is that peeking it's nose out under the Bismarck shelf?

Being a Navy guy I'm not a big fan of the B-36 (check out the revolt of the admirals if you are unfamiliar with that piece of history), but man is that thing huge!

Thanks guys, and Rob that thing peeking out is my conversion of the original 1/32 Hasegawa F18. That build must be 20 years old now. I believe that kit was the original prototype of the F18, and at the time the only one available in 1/32.

Sorry to possibly disappoint a Navy guy, but that is in Marine Corps VMFA low vis markings, and the figure is a converted Verlinden pilot. I'll have to get some photos up.

As with the C-130 in this thread the big models have to be cleaned every so often. I could never put everything I have in a case.

In fact I'm starting to think about donating some models to the local VFW, Vets, Military Museum, and or Library. If I ever downsize I'll be in trouble with the models! ...Lol.

I had no idea Hasegawa had made a 1/32 Hornet. I've got a couple of the Academy 1/32 in the stash. I guess you are a "go big or go home guy!"

Groot, it wasn't the Peacemakers fault- they were already around. And in the end, the navy did get what it wanted.

Those are big models. Gots to be a BUFF in there somewhere...

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

I have the Italeri 1/48 Gunship version in the stash. Looking forward to it. Seems to be plenty of room for electric motors so I think I will motorise it.
