Skunk Models 1/48 RQ-4B Global Hawk

Just finished off this one, it has a winspan of 82.9cm so needless to say, it was awkward working with when painting.

Like it's little brother the Reaper the instructions have wrong number call outs, so you need to go by the picture not part number.

Also the instructions call for only single rear wheels but looking at reference pictures I see it has both tandem and single wheels. Being so big I went with tandems, but I need to straighten them up a bit and re-glues as you can see in the photos a  couple have a camber where there should not be any. I also did not add enough nose weight so it is a tail sitter.

I kept it a "clean" build as the unmanned vehicles look to be kept well and reference photos almost always show them pretty clean.

This kit comes with decals for 2 liveries, USAF and Luftwaffe. I chose USAF as there were more markings all be it not much more.

I used Vallejo for the grey and Italeri for the white.

Nice looking Global Hawk!!!  With such a long wingspan, are the wings really flimsy?

On the Bench:  Lots of unfinished projects!  Smile

They actually are pretty firm, I wouldn't go shaking around to test the theory though.

That is beautiful!!  I have that kit and can't wait to start it!  Any issues with it?

Not really, only the instructions/number call out being incorrect, the fit of the parts is pretty good.
