Eduard 1/48 SSW D.III kit #8256 New mold

Thanks, Stephen.  The wings look like they are rather thick, is that so?  I built the old kit and I don't remember having that issue.

Greetings John,  I have done both recently.  The new mold seems much better than the old.  (But the kit lozenge is wretched).  The plastic trailing edge is thin but base paint the basic lozenge covering and the edging tape puts a lot in one area. The Aviattic ribbing & edging tape sheets have a white backing where the basic cover lozenge is translucent.  The colors are spot on for the factory fresh colors.

The wrap around effect of the lozenge is deceptive and makes the trailing edge seem thicker but its not really.

By the way John here is the early build #8001.  Its in a diorama called "Our best man is on it"  It took a respectable 1st in the recent Region X con here in Denver.

I began the other two Eduard 1/48 SSW D.III builds that I marked as Marine Feld Jasta aircraft that may have been among the machines turned in at Nivelles at the EOW.

Nice builds. I love those older wood and canvus birds. I need to start adding some to the stash. Thanks for sharing with us.

Well ya'll here is the result of a dual Eduard 1/48 SSW D.III (kit # 8256) build. I used the HGW dark wood decal panels (modified) and a mix of the Aviattic 1/48 factory fresh and faded 5 color lozenge. The motors are the Eduard resin item and the Instrument gauges are all Eduard aftermarket PE.  The first build represents a machine from Marine Feld Jasta IV at the End of War. Possibly D.3042/18.
