That's a great looking build there. Some really nice detail.

Glad I am not the only one who gets carried away until I realise just how late it is.

To Roger_Wilco,

Thank you.  I don't know if it's a winner, but in my humble opinion, this is the best kit that I've ever done so.

To Bish,

Thank you for your support!  While I build the next model a Corsair, maybe I'll just forego sleep.  LOL!

LOL, I wish I could do that. Sleep is such a waist of time and so over rated. There's just to many models to build.

Will keep an eye out for the Corsair.

Bravo! BRA-VO!! I am absolutely impressed Toshi. What a great job you have done on your P-51. Be very proud of yourself as your skills and techniques are seemingly improving exponentially. And I will add that I am rather astounded with how fast you built this. Yeah, I realize that you have more time on your hands than I and that you are able to work into the wee hours of the morning, but still, WOW! That kit would take me easily a couple of years to complete.

And now I am completely amped for you to get started on the Corsair. Should you have any questions on the Corsair I'll probably be able to help as I am loaded with reference books and material. I be to lovin' the Corsair.

Thank you for sharing your excellent efforts with us.

Toshi - that came out real nice. As for whether it's a winner, the most important things are ones you already mentioned: first, that you enjoyed building it, and second, that it's the best one yet and you're proud of it. I'm always happy if I see some progress on my models. The most recent kit might not be my favorite or best, but if I've learned something and put it to use, then that's progress, and that's what makes me happy. It seems like you're finding the same, and it will be great to see you take on that Corsair!!

And Mrs. Toshi is very nice for buying those for you. Does she have a sister? (Kidding, of course, but you've got yourself a keeper).

Looking good Toshi!  I can't get over how fast you knocked this one out.

To JOE RIX,

Thank you for the support you've given me, I am very proud and excited at the way the P-51D turned out.  This makes my excitement that much more to build the Corsair.  I think I will try to attempt to highlight the panels of the Corsair.  I'm just concerned as the dark navy blue would be too dark to allow the lines separating each panel to show.  There's always a first!  Thank you for the read and reply.

To BrandonD,

Yes, she has a sister that's available.  LOL!  But you'll have to go to Honolulu, Hawaii to go out on a date with her.  That's one expensive first date.  LOL!  By the way, it was Mrs. Toshi with whom chose the Mustang to portray, "Blondie".  Believe it or not, although the Mustang was one of my top 5 aircraft, my number one favorite is the F4U-Corsair.  Though both planes are totally different, the Tamiya build concept is relevant.  I am going to use this as an advantage on the Corsair.  Thank you for the read and reply as well as your support.

You're welcome Toshi. Fear not highlighting the panel lines on your Corsair. The trick is on the white and intermediate blue you highlight with a blackish brown, or some variation of such. Then on the dark blue you highlight with a medium gray. If you look at photos of my Hellcat you'll notice what I mean. I know that it may seem odd but it produces an excellent effect. study uf refernce photos will also show that this actually appropriate. I sure hope that helps.

To robgroot4,

There are some days in which I'll loose myself into the building of a model.  There are also other days that I can't physically do this.  I try to utilize my good days and not stop until I get tired or when Mrs. Toshi says; "Go to bed"!  Thank you for the read and reply especially your support.

The majority of my learning curb comes from FSM forum members!  Hopefully I can continue to follow members builds, like yours, an improve with that.  Thanks for following this build.

To MBrindos,

Thank you for everything!  I might put the pilot in his cockpit,  do you have any tips that I can utilize as beginner?

As a beginner to figure painting I would concentrate on cleaning up the seams and good clean blocking.

Blocking is the term for getting your main colors painted on. I.E. ; face, gloves, pants, boots, etc.

Get that much done and you're ready for the next step which is easy. Washes.

Give us all some progress pics and we can guide you clearly from that point. Just remember that preparation before painting applies to figures as much as it does to models. :)

You'll do great.
