Aviation Relics
Posted by Pampa14 on Monday, June 1, 2015 6:52 AM

No doubt the Second World War definitely marked the use of aircraft as weapons of war. The link below provides a collection of images, many of them colorful and rare, taken during the conflict, at different times and in different operating theaters and showing details often dramatic, of the aviation during WW2. I hope you enjoy.

Bombs were dropped from hot air balloons. In fact the Japanese sent hot air balloons into the jet stream over to the U.S. during WWII and fortunately there was only one family of six that was killed ion Oregon. This was kept top secret for many years after the war ended.  Invent something and man will find a way to use it as a weapon.

What is the point of the post, Pampa? Thanks for posting, and there are some I've never seen, which isn't saying much, but...?

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.
