1/48 F9F-6 Kittyhawk/Revell kit bash

This is for a future article in FSM. I kitbashed the R/M Panther fuselage and the Kittyhawk wings and tailplanes to get an F9F-6. This particular set of markings represents one that my dad took a picture of back in the mid-50's at Pensacola. He was playing baseball for the Army and they had finished up their game against the Navy. They had some time before they had to leave, so he was able to get a picture of a pristine F9F-6. Since it was my dad who got me into modeling, this build was a kind of "thank you" for all he's done. I'm not particularly happy with the lighting. It was the wrong time of day to take pictures. I'll be reshooting at a later date. These were more of just to see how it looked finished.

Really beautiful model, nice story and great sentiment. Thanks to all the Dads out there who got us into this wonderful hobby.

Look forward to seeing the full article.
