1/48 X-29 (Resin Conversion)
Posted by sbemo13 on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 11:11 AM

I used the Attic resin conversion I bought on EBAY. The resin was full of air bubbles. I only used the main fuselage most of parts I made from styrene. The decals were very hard to use. I used Classic Airframes F-5A for forward part of fuselage. That kit has resin cockpit which is very nice. I drilled out the engine bay and added F-18 exhaust. I am sorry there aren't more pictures, I am having computer issues. It took A LOT of work, hope you enjoy.

Main gear is ESCI F-16 gear. I used 0.40 styrene for wing and 0.10 for canards. I plan to eventually paint on red and blue to replace decals. Tons of Tamiya white primer.... Shawn G.

Very nicely done, what an amazingly clean build!  BTW, I love your work bench.  May I ask a question?  What is in the 7" three ring binders?  One of them says "Skyraider".  Is it filled completely with documentation of "Skyraider" information?  If it is, WOW!

Interesting build sbemo13!  I hope you get the issues with your computer sorted out.  I'd like to see more.

NOICE!!!! That looks like it took quite a bit of work. Attic isn't known for their quality, but when it's the only game in town, you do what you have to do,

Yes Toshi, it took years and years have thousands of documents all in sheet protectors, there are close to 100 different binders. Thank you for kind words. Shawn G.

You are right Darren, It was very smart only to use fuselage. The wings were badly misshaped. I would love to build 1/32 X-29, I know I am a glutton for punishment. Shawn G.
