Nieuport Conversion.
Ok, here is the deal. All of the 1/48 Nieuport 21bis - 27 rounded fuselage kits are OOP. So I either wait for one to come up at evil-bay or I act like a modeler and create my own. I am a graduate of the "Michael L Fritz" school of modeling and when scratch building or converting a subject I tend to build several examples to get one or two items.
Having said that I must also say that I am a graduate of the "Rudy Turner" school of think lazy. Quite simply, ". . .get the job done right but do it in the most common sense method possible. I chose to do a conversion and to start with an Eduard Nieuport 23. It is proportionally correct to hang the rounded fuselage dressings on. This is the basis of the real original Nieuport 21bis & 24 prototypes. The tailskid housing was deleted on the type 27. So here is my first attempt.
