I can't help you with 1/72; however, I just built the Revell 1/32 G-6.  I used the 'Erla' canopy for my build, however, it also had the original G-6 style canopy as well.  I did mine it the markings of Erich "Bubi" Hartmann with the yellow wingtips, tall tail, and the yellow under-engine cowling.

On the Bench:  Lots of unfinished projects!  Smile

Messerschmitt Bf-109G-6/U4 - which Hasegawa kit?

Hello everybody!

I need a great advice, especially from those people Bf-109 fanatic Wink

I would like to build a Messerschmitt Bf-109G-6/U4 from Aeronautica Nazionale Repubblicana, 1^ Squadriglia, 2° Gruppo, "7 nero" ("black seven") on duty in November 1944 at Aviano Airfield (Italia), with typical three tone grey camuoflage, bright yellow wing-tips, bright yellow engine undercowling,

The aircraft should be a late version of G-6, that is externally very similar to G-14 (tall wooden tail, short tail wheel) except canopy that is NOT "Erla Haube": actually it is a "standard G-6 canopy".

I'm talking about 1/72 scale and I think I have two options:

- to buy an Academy G-14 and then an aftermarket G-6 canopy (i.e. Squadron #9182);

- to buy an Hasegawa G-14 (late issue kit) that - as I read somewhere on the web - contains two canopies (tha Erla one and the standard one).

Does anybody advice me something about my project?

I would prefer the second chance, because it seems cheaper and because I would try Hasegawa Bf-109 (I already built a G-6 from Academy).

Does anybody know which Hasegawa kit I have to buy? I mean, what's the code of the Hasegawa G-14 kit containing the two canopies?

Or do I have to follow a different way to make my project true?

Thanks a lot in advance for your attention to my words.

Regards.
