Painting options

Does anyone know of or can comment on a software paint program that lets you experiment with paint patterns and design camo patterns? I'm not really a scale builder; preferring to steal patterns and designs from various planes and theaters...just like they did when painting a SM79 Marchetti. ;) I just need something simple and cheap. thx

I'd look for an early version of Corel Draw and Corel Photopaint, they are cheap.

GIMP is either freeware or shareware, forget which. It is an excellent image editor, very powerful.  And now there is a book out, to make up for lack of manual.  So, for the cost of a book you get an excellent piece of software.

+1 for GIMP. It's actually free software ("free" as in "freedom"). You don't have to register to get it and it is 100% ad-free. Most freeware and shareware pester you with ads and spam you.
