What company is making this scale model? I have the Trumpeteer 1/32 scale A10A and this is big....can't imagine something a little more than twice that size!

Regards, Dan

WOW 1/18 scale !?!? That thing will be huge... I'd like to see that. I'd have to build an addition on the back of the house.

Yea...I'm not believeing this rumor. I think there comes a point to where a model gets so big that it becomes too much to handle. I think a 1/18 A-10 would cross that line.

Where did you get this info from anyway?

I thank its 21st century toys for there 1/18 aircraft line ... Even though they are not model kits and they are toys they are still by nomeans Toyish because they are very reallistic and accurately detailed!!! I heard about the 1/18 A-10 in the Helo forum.

I've seen the 1/18 scale P-38, P-47, P-51, Bf-109, FW-190 in a local Wally World, but I didn't know that 21st Century toys decided to produce modern jet fighters, they also are doing the AH-64 & UH-60 & UH-1 in that scale for their armour pieces

Hey Guys,

I've seen the pre-production photos for it and it looks cool. There's also supposedly an F-18 coming out too. I didn't like the looks of it though. I believe they're going to be produced by BBI, the same company that makes the Apache, Blackhawk and Littlebird in that scale. Although each has some detail inaccuracies, they're really amazing! I've got the Apache and the21st Century UH-1B/C (its kinda a mishmash of both) along with the P-38 and F4U-1 in my workshop now. I'm trying to figure out a way to accurize the Apache without completely killing it. The fact that they put the canopy doors on the wrong side of the canopy kinda sucks. Other than that, all I can say is I wish I had these things when I was a kid!

Getting back to the A-10, I wouldn't discount it because of the size. 21st Century toys came out with a 1/6 M-5 Stuart light tank. They LIKE making big toys!

Well it would stand to reason wouldn't it? I mean, if they did their market research and saw how excited people got about the 1/32 A-10 they would probably do one in their scale. The A-10 has been featured on the news enough that its on everybodies mind, so if they are trying to ride the wave of popularity we may see one. And others as well. The ones mentioned above are just a few of what comes to mind. How about a F-117 or F-22? or even a B-2? And if they're doing it for their toy line, how about a C-130 (even GI Joe has a C-130, very toyish though) and if you want to be ridiculous a C-5 (don't hold your breath for this one though)

THe A-10 project has been cancelled per a conversation with 21st's owner. THe BBI f-18 is available for pre-order wil a F-16 Falcon to follow depending on the "reception" of the HUGE Hornet. This thing will be over 40" long. Retail on it is around $80.00. I do enjoy the modern 1/18th stuff, but I don't let it get in the way of modeling.

Hey Cobrahistorian, I've taken my Blackwawk through the "CHOP SHOP" for the first round. I moved the ESS pylons to the correct placement, opened up the gunner's windows, removed the ceter section of seats, and corrected the angle on the tail rotor. Believe me, it is a real bugger getting the thing apart. Fortunately I didn't break anything on it taking it apart. One of the other members broke the windsreen on his.
