I was doing some Web browsing for Dyersburg, TN based B-17s when I came across a picture of the tail of the first "F" model sitting on the tarmac in '45. Problem is, it was said to have crashed in Washington state in '43. Steve Birdsall's "Pride of Seattle " documents this fate. Now it seems that it was not the case, and it was based in Dyersburg. Aerovintage says there's another photo showing the nose markings (repeat of last 4 of the serial number ), and that the turrets are gone, like a vip aircraft. I can't find a picture of how the turrets were faired over so far, and wondered if any of you may have a picture that would show how it might look.
