Are Airplanes on the Intrepid Real?
Posted by Chrisk-k on Monday, August 10, 2015 9:50 PM

I've been to the Intrepid Museum in NYC several times.  Of course, I've carefully looked at and sometimes touched all the famous airplanes on the aircraft carrier.  Does anyone know if they are real?  I don't know why, but they look fake to me (maybe I'm too accustomed to looking at model airplanes to appreciate real ones!).

They used to have a SB2C, and F6F wich which were both fake/replicas.  They no longer have them; the mesuem did not want any replicas on board.
