decal problems
Posted by navy07 on Thursday, August 27, 2015 12:56 PM

I am building Revell's F/A-18E Super Hornet (kit 5850).  I am having a problem with the instructions for the placement of the decals, in particular #66.  On the sheet, it is 3 yellow stripes, but on the picture, it is a stencil triangle, which I can not find.  Has anyone had tyhat problem?  Second question, does anyone know f any pilot figures for jet fighters in the 1/144 scale?  Thank you.  Lenny

Are you supposed to make a triangle out of the three yellow stripes? Seems doubtful, but maybe?

You're looking for the ejection seat warning triangles.

Looking here: http://www.cybermodeler.com/hobby/kits/rm/images/rm_fa-18e2_decals.jpg they're the grey triangles marked "66" between the "NJ" tail markings left of centre at the top of the sheet.

Thanks for the reply, I guess I missed it.  Do you know why the othercalsre marked #66 also, and what they were to be used for?  Lenny

I can't find an instruction sheet online for the previous incarnation of this kit, but it looks like the earlier release includes bombs (JDAMs and Mk83's), which aren't provided in this one. Certainly the curved stripes look like bomb stripes and I'm guessing the others are too.

It appears they deleted those parts for this release but left the stripes on the decal sheet.
