Really nice work. I like the subtle weathering. Just right.

Jay Jay, thanks I really appreciate it! I'm very happy with how it turned out. I thinks it's my best build so far. I still have a ways to go to match you guys though!

BK, the new Airfix kits look good DESPITE the hands of builders like me LOL! They really are great kits though. Thanks for the kind words, it means a lot to me coming from you.

It turned out really nice. These Airfix kits are really under built. They look really good in the hands of builders like you. Nicely done.!!

I'm finially saying my Hurricane is done! This is the 2015 Airfix boxing. I painted with Tamiya acrylics, and the wash was done with artist oils. As promised I repainted the exhaust and I'm much happier with them now. After repainting I did some exhaust streaking with pastel chaulks, black and then added some gray along the centers. Now enough talk, time for pictures...

I apologize that they are not the best pics but I'm no photographerBig Smile

Thanks for all the comments everybody and keep on building!

Well Done Andy.

The panel line wash and weathering is very nice, it really makes it pop.

Finally made some progress on this build. Since last update I've sealed the decals with future, added an oil wash, some chipping around the gun access panels and I've sealed it with a flat coat of Tamiya. All that's left is adding the nave lights and camera lenses. I may dry brush some slight exhaust staining with pastels. I'm also not really happy with the exhaust themselves so I'll probably repaint them. Enough talk now on to the pics...

Tried to replicate some mud splatter on the tires. Not great but came out ok.

As always comments and critiques welcome! Thanks for looking!

The gun ports themselves were sealed over with patches of cloth using dope before each flight or after arming too.

Thanks guys it's much appreciated! I have a question that hopefully someone can help me with. The red decals that go over the guns I assume are coverings to keep dirt and such out? If so it would make sense that the cover by the openings for the guns would be tattered/slightly singed from the muzzle blast right?

Looks very nice so far, and, great work in the tub! This is a nice kit from Airfix, I wish I could get a good 1/32 Hurricane to go with my 1/32 collection I'm building! Cheers : )

This is a build I'm doing for the Battle of Britian GB and thought I'd post here too. I'm a little late posting this as I have most of it built, but still need to finish decaling and weathering. This kit really goes together nice. All paints are Tamiya acyrilics. Only "AM" parts are the seatbelts which are actually printed by a gentlemen close to where I live. Thanks for looking and feedback is always welcome! Now to the pics...

This is the only real fit issue I had with the kit and I'm pretty sure it was my doing somewhere along the assembly process. Little putty and it should disappear under paint. The fit on this kit is great! Next up was the underside Sky color...

Then Flat Earth lightened with some flat white and after that RAF Dark Green.

I want to try a light filter (maybe gray?) to blend the paint with the decals and give a slight worn look. And then a oil wash for panel lines and such. Both of these will be new to me so we'll see how it goesSmile Thanks again for looking!
