picked this box up for cheap at the LHS and decided to have a little fun with it!

the date stamp says 1981, but the sprues say 1960s. Okeydokey then? Dunce

no internal detail, just a pilot blob that you mount on a stick. But that never stopped me! Stretched sprue for teh ribbing, and bits from teh spare box helped detail the cockpit area

Somehow, I lost the decals that came with the kit. I guess that means I get to make somethin up! Here she is with the decals applied. All sourced from the spares.

we a had a couple of contests this past month; one just for the club meeting, and another where we traveled down to Leavenworth, Kansas.

MY LITTLE BIRDIE WON AWARDS!! Holy cow!

First up, was a monthly contest for the IPMS meeting: Remembering the Great War. I entered both my tank/trench dio and the biplane. Anonymous judging was used, and I took home both first and second places! How cool is that??  Cool

Then I headed down to KS with some other club members, and entered in my albatross among stiff competition. Wonderful models in all the categories! With a dozen or so other biplanes on display, I didnt think my little Albatross would stand a chance...

apparently the look on my face was PRICELESS. Whaaa? :yikes:

I officially have an award-winning model!
