Tamiya 1/48 Lancaster
Posted by 7474 on Sunday, October 11, 2015 9:00 PM

Just picked up the Tamiya 1/48 Lancaster off Ebay, the Dambuster version, since it was about half the price as full retail price. Since I've been wanting to have a break from 1/72 kits, and this was at a good price so I had to do it.

Should I even spend any extra for after market stuff, with the exception of 303 barrels (about $4 for a package) and an instrument panel, or is the kit pretty good without needing to purchase any extras? I'm looking forward to building this beast. Has anyone done any build reports on this kit?

I built that one about 15 years ago.  I don't recall much in the way of extras in that kit. It was not a new kit even when I got it, and I think it was not of more current Tamiya quality in terms of detailing. It is a good kit as is but I am thinking it could use some sprucing up. I elected to build OOB since I built wheels up for hanging from the ceiling as I did not have the display space that I do now.
