Rato

I just don't know how you can get those tiny figures to look so realistic. The dio is just gorgeous. Well done sir!Beer

Since you referred to Bill Holden and my Favorite war flick "The Bridges at Toko-Ri" you may know this trivia. It was filmed aboard the Oriskany and the markings are from VF-192 The Fying Dragons who transitioned from the Corsair to the Panther. Another good flick was "The Men of the Fighting Lady" and was also filmed on the Oriskany.

While serving as a police officer back in the mid 70's I worked for a Sgt. that was serving on the Oriskany at the time when the movie was filmed on the carrier. He met several of the actors including Bill Holden.

I have the old 1/48 Revell F9F-5 Panther with the VF-192 decals and the HO3S 1/48 resin helo kit from Belcher Bits with the markings used in the movie and Mickey Rooney's resin figure of his character with the top hat.

Oh My !  Such a wonderfully done dio.

Starting with the perfectly built jet , the life-like figures, the worn and weathered carrier deck, everthing is absolutely gorgeous. I swear I can hear the jet engine whine and can almost see the men moving about the deck. You Sir are a true artist.

Rato Marczak

My latest diorama is "November 9th" depicting the day in 1950 when the first jet vs. jet kill happened, during the Korea War.
Starring William Holden, Grace Kelly, Hasegawa F9F-2 Panther, F4 Models NC-1A starter unit and a bunch of Preiser figurants, I mean, figures. Hope you like it.

Just wonderful work, Rato, so well done and realistic, totally representative of an "onboard" action scene. Thanks for posting and the photos.
