That is one really effective camo finish, perfectly applied. Dramatic effect, it sure conceals the shape of the aircraft. Thanks for the post.

As there have been 2 other MIG 21 threads, I let this one ride until I had finished.

Looks really nice. I am just stinging in on the resin pit for my "R". So many parts for such a small area!

Thinks to self: Do not get into jets, do not get into jets, do not get into jets...you have enough props to last a lifetime

Sees AdeB's start: Oooh, he makes that look like lots of fun. Maybe just a couple of jets...

In all seriousness, this looks like a great build so far, and I'll definitely be subscribing.

Two words:  GIVE IN. lol

Build looks great so far. I particularly like the bang seat.  Really impressive looking.

3 hours of eye strain and I'm sat with a well earned gin and tonic.

More than happy with the seat though...phew.

Main cockpit instrument panel done and work started on the seat.

Hope my build doesn't get over shadowed by Bish and his MIG 21 skills...Stick out tongue

You'll love this kit. I built the Bis a couple years ago. The Brassin stuff fit perfectly. No filler needed anywhere. As I recall, the nose gear bay might be too wide for the fuselage halves to close together properly. Just a heads up So you don't think its the cockpit thats interfering with the fuselage halves fitting.

Clearly I am not the only one getting the urge to build something modern. Seems like several members are pulling out more modern jets. I'll be watching this one. I need to add a Mig-21 to the stash and this kit has my interest.

here we go...first up is the resin aftermarket cockpit. Lots of fiddly photo etch.

The main tub and the rear bulkhead in progress: Edit - the green looks very dark on these pics but in reality it is the lovely bright Emerald of the Soviet cockpit interiors!

I too will be watching closely. Having just finished my A4E, I have the 21R Profi Pack in the short list for the next build.

OK, start of a big build. Splashed out on a box of aftermarkets too.

Looking to build the Serbian winter camo markings and construct a snowy-ish diorama.

Will try and post some updates as I go if anyone fancies tagging along for the ride Smile
