What color is the M8 4.5.inch triple tube boozka

Hi all ..I'm building the p-51b mustang lll  (trumpeter )....I decided to go for two 500 lbs bombs and the m8 4.5 inch triple tube boozka lunchers ...what color are they ...can't find color pictures of this ...any thoughts. ..thanks ....5 high

Well, you can't go wrong painting them olive drab.  Everything else in the army was.  Big Smile

And I guess it depends on the type.  This was a unit, and was loaded as such.  This will pretty much explain the 3 types.

Yes, they are Ordnance or AGF (ANA 613) OD, not OD 41.  Google for P-47 photos as they used them the most.

Thanks a bunch gaf ..and richs26..I wasn't sure about the color. ..one was plastic the other was made of steel then another was magnesium and steel ...wow Confused..olive drab it shall be ....should of known ....army ....again thanks .Bow Down..soon I'll have the wip...pictures up loaded in the mustang GB

Just in case you haven't found a color picture of the tubes, here's one that shows them mounted on a P-47 (which is more common).

I have not found a single image of these mounted under a P-51, except for one image (b/w) of a unit under a P-51A in "P-51 Mustang in Action" from Squadron.  My google-fu is weak.

Hi ..pete here ...I've seen them on Ds and B /C mustangs. So I thought I'd load her up .I have alot of extras in the parts box .Wink
