GMorrison stikpusher Have a look at this old training film https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3dIqfN_aPtY There was an earlier AD loft bombing profile too. Can't imagine. The interviews I've read with pilots in that era all generally assumed they would perish in the war. In particular the F-89 guys over the North Pole with the AIR-2 Genie.

Kind of like what you saw in "Fail Safe". If one was not killed in the blast, your aircraft falls out of the sky out of fuel over the arctic... Thank God it never happened and Happy Thanksgiving all.

U is for URANIUM... BOMBS!
N is for NO SURVIVORS...

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.
A few kits come with them. The Testors F-117 kit has some B61 types. The Revellogram F-84E/G and F-84F kits come with the Mk.7 type shapes. I think the Monogram B-58 has a few B43 types. I'm not sure if there are any resin shapes out there in 1/48.
thanks for the replies fellas, anyone know of a company that makes the shapes in 48th scale?
Well, apparently there is an A-4E with a B43 at the bottom of the Phillipine Sea since 1965...

And here is flight test with a Mk.7 Shape
and another
I imagine the A-4 was capable of dropping any of the tactical nukes the Corps and Navy have in the inventory. Most likely putting them on the centerline station. I did a couple of Mag-14 QAST's and the A-6 Intruder used for the exercise, had the B-57 on the centerline. Have also seen the B-61 used on the Intruders.
On the bench: So many hanger queens.
I was just looking through the Ginter Books for the Navy and Marine Corps A-4E/F Skyhawk and there are LOTS of pictures of the white flash hood thats used to cut off the pilot from the nuclear flash once a weapon is detonated, my question is what "shapes" was the Skooter cleared to deliver?
Thanks for the help
