New Released AIRFIX Heinkel HE-111 1/72nd scale

Holy Cow!!

I have been waiting anxiously for the release of this kit since first hearing about it.

Since getting back into the hobby a couple years ago when my then 9 year old wanted to build model airplanes. It got me back in with a passion.

Long story short I re-discovered AIRFIX and was excited that they had re-invented themselves better than ever. I bought a number of the new packaged kits and a some of the new tooled ones and was very much impressed ESPECIALLY the 1/72nd Airfix Paul Defiant which went together like a dream!!

Well, a friend who attended the British IPMS Nationals came back and said the new HE-111 was awesome I jumped at the chance to grab a couple when SPRUE BROTHERS had them available for "Black Friday". Well my son and I opened the package which arrived yesterday and I have to say on first impression what an incredible looking kit !!! Molded in a attractive and tasteful blueish gray plastic, the lines are crisp, and clean. I didn't see any flash and the clear parts are beautiful. The decal sheet is of high quality and look great. The instructions are done in a detailed booklet format which is easy to follow.

What I also like is that AIRFIX provides a story about the aircraft depicted on the box cover. This was taken from a true story of an incident that occured in Norway in 1940.

There was a movie made called, "Into the White". Great movie. I bought 2 kits because my now 11 year old has built over 70+ kits I had in storage over the years and asked if he could finally have a "new" technology kit and he loves the HE-111. So I went ahead and picked up 2. Thank you SPRUE BROTHERS for making it an attractive deal!!

I can't say enough positives about this kit it is loaded with detail and from what I have seen is one of the most accurate and detailed 1/72nd HE-111's available. Way to go AIRFIX. I can't wait for the 1/72nd B-17, 1/48 Gloster Meteor, and 1/48 Boulton Defiant.

Is this the new He 111P kit. I have this in my sites, glad to hear it won't be a disappointment. One question, how comprehensive is the interior, especially the rear.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Thanks. I did read one review which said its easily a match for the Hasegawa kit, which given it less than half the price is good news.
