The old Hobbycraft/ Academy kit.
Modeling is an excuse to buy books.
Buddy- Those who say there are no stupid questions have never worked in customer service.
Yes am still going to. In the garage I found the Hasegawa weapons kit with the Falcons. Yippee!
Turns out I have two kits, the Hobby Craft and the Academy.
As a Scorpion fanatic (and all things Northrop), I'll definitely be watching this build! So far, it looks great and I can't wait to see it with its paint and markings.

Here's what the Revell kit looks like finished. No decal sheets for this one; the designs are all paint and letter/star decals. This is the J model from the Minnesota Air National Guard.
Late in Scorpion's service, they were serving in Air Guard units attached to the Air Defense Command. Many aircraft in the early- to mid-1960s that used to be natural metal, were refinished with "aircraft gray" (FS 16473), the same color applied to the F-101B, F-102A, and F-106A. You can find shots of non-camouflaged F-100s and F-104s in this color, too.
My hometown has a B model that was placed in the main park in 1959 after it was surplused by the ID ANG. My cousin's 2nd grade class got to go on a field trip to see it before it was placed on pylons. He got to sit in the cockpit along with other members of his class. For a study of the effectiveness of the F-89, go to Wiki for "the battle of Palmdale".

Re the Revell F-89, in the vernacular of Crocodile Dundee, "That's not an old kit, This is an old kit".

Yep, there are two completely different Revell "1/72 scale" Scorpions. The original (more like 1/80 scale) was the one pictured above taxiing on Arctic ice. It is actually a pretty decent scale model for its day (about 1957 or so).
In the late 1980s - early '90s, Ace Models in Korea created "scaled down" versions of the Monogram F-89D/J Scorpion (and the F-101B Voodoo) for Revell. This is the true 1/72 scale kit and the one most recently reboxed by Revell Germany.
I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Here's one that was sent to the A.F. Security Police training area to teach the security guys how to guard aircraft. This was taken in the late 70s so I don't know if it's still being used.
